ABOUT

I am André Redert, born in The Netherlands (1971), received MSc (1995) and PhD (2000) degree from the Information and Communication Theory group at Delft University of Technology. I worked as senior scientist at Philips Research Eindhoven (2000-2010) on 3DTV, music, health and identification technology, and as guest lecturer at Delft University (2005-2012). I am (co-)author of 25 conference papers, 7 journal papers, 1 book chapter, 6 reports and 29 patent applications.

Currently I am an indy app developer at Qneo (2009-) and Rodotti (2013-), focusing on entertainment, music, and research tools/prototyping. In spare time, I make music. And as far as time permits, I investigate worldwide excess mortality since 2020 as independent researcher. If you want to support my work, feel free to visit my support page.

The name Rodotti is derived from prodotti, the Italian word for products. It started as a joke nickname, but stuck over the years. My parents took the photo in 1975 at Rotterdam Blijdorp Zoo. The red tie was made by my grandmother, still have it.

SUPPORT

I declare that my current research is done with an interest in science, and personal safety for myself, loved ones, and humanity. Pro bono, independent, without payroll, not funded. The only competing interest was substantial time taken from my normal job as indy app developer.

If you would like to support my work, please consider buying me a cup of coffee. It is highly appreciated!

Thanks, André

Favourite
My favourite invention is my first, at the bottom of this page. It enables simultaneous 2D and 3D viewing with glasses-based 3D on e.g. TV or cinema. Anyone wearing glasses experiences a pleasing, non-fatiguing 3D effect, while viewing the same screen without glasses sees perfect 2D video without blur or double imaging. The algorithm is similar to FM radio broadcasts that allow for mono and stereo audio reproduction simultaneously, depending on the capabilities of the receiving radio.
